The company is growing at close to 40% annually and the group’s annual revenue is currently close to DKK 1 billion. 

While the group’s parent company remains in Denmark, the CEO, CFO and a large part of the business are located at our client´s US office in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

At the EMEA regional head office in Copenhagen, you will join some 200 skilled colleagues in a dynamic, international and fun working environment. The organization is flat, where decision paths are short, suggestions are considered, and your influence is felt in the final product. To give support in global scaling, further maturation of the organization and to build and strengthen global accounting processes our client is seeking a Finance Manager. The Finance Manager will be a key player in the current and future transformation process in order to take Finance to the highest level and ensure timely and SOX compliant reporting.  Financial reporting is in accordance with IFRS and handled in the ERP system Netsuite.  Fiscal year is running from 1st  of July to 30th  of June. 

The Finance Manager will be based in Copenhagen and reports to the EMEA Head of Finance who reports to Global Head of Finance. EMEA Finance consists of 10 people of which the majority is located in Copenhagen and you will be solid line manager for at the moment 4 accountants and 2 employees handling accounts payable and travel expenses. 

Responsibilities:

As Finance Manager you will be responsible for day to day finance and accounting operations for EMEA region at the same time as keeping focus on and driving forward ongoing projects. You will be involved with re-engineering current close processes, strengthening the financial reporting processes and building internal controls for all our client´s EMEA subsidiaries. 

In addition to these responsibilities, you will as Finance Manager oversee compliance with accounting policies and procedures and direct and coordinate the daily activities of the accounting staff. 

The EMEA Head of Finance whom you will report to has a background as Stateauthorized Public Accounting from a Big 4 auditing firm. You will also be working closely with Corporate Finance in the US, HR, Legal, Sales etc. Key responsibility areas for the position are described below:

·          Manage the monthly close including financial controlling and review of account reconciliations and accruals for EMEA subsidiaries

·          Ensure compliance with statutory accounting requirements based on IFRS and participate in Annual Report

·          Drive and manage various aspects of the EMEA Finance transformation process and develop the Finance team to fully support future reporting requirements and business growth

·          Take the lead or participate in various ad hoc finance and accounting projects which involves working closely with cross-functional business partners, e.g. start up of subsidiaries

·          Assist with research on technical accounting matters as necessary and preparing technical accouting memos 

·          Design and optimize financial and accounting processes and systems for the EMEA region, e.g. internal control processes, invoice scanning and travel expense systems etc.

·          Give input to budgeting and forecasting and participate in maturing these processes

·          Handling contact to external auditors and follow up on external audits

The position is international of nature and with senior management exposure. However, the position only requires limited travel actively, estimated 5-10 days on a yearly basis mainly to the US or EMEA subsidiaries. Copenhagen Office is located close to Vesterport and Copenhagen Central Station.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate holds a Masters degree within auditing (cand.merc.aud) etc. Should experience perfectly fit what is described below a Masters degree in finance or a Business Diploma in Accounting (HD R) may also be suitable.

The Finance Manager possesses the following experience and qualifications:

·          At least 3-5 years of progressive industry experience from an international finance organization in a role as e.g. Finance Manager, Accounting Manager or Senior Financial Controller

·          Previous Big 4 audit firm experience preferred. With the right personality you  could also take the step into this position from an Auditor position on Manager or Senior Manager level

·          Experience in working with financial reporting under IFRS

·          Experience in basic accounting processes, including general ledger, A/P, A/R reconciliations, month-end closing and preferably budgeting

·          Solid understanding of financial processes and internal controls and preferably implementation experience from an international organization

·          Previous experience working in ERP systems like SAP or Oracle

·          Microsoft Office, in particular Excel skills on an advanced level

·         Fluency in oral and written English
