Arjo is focusing on the journey back to profitable growth since having become a separate listed company after the carve out from Getinge Group in 2017. Recent years has been spent on optimizing operations in order to be ready to grow faster than the market. With point of departure in the new growth strategy Arjo will now sharpen focus on also inorganic growth and transformation of the portfolio leading to an increased number of yearly transactions. Until now Corporate Development has handled M&A and transactions on ad hoc level but based on the new profitable growth strategy now establishing a dedicated M&A function within Corporate Development.

The position

Therefore, Arjo is now seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of M&A with a background in corporate finance advisory, investment banking, internal M&A department or similar. You will define and execute Arjo´s M&A strategy and drive merger and acquisition projects within the interesting and challenging medical device industry. The new M&A function will advice Arjo´s executive team within e.g. mergers, acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and strategic partnerships. The function will support all aspects of the transaction cycle from conception and target identification to valuation, execution of process and negotiation until post-merger integration. The position reports to Executive Vice President, Corporate Development with the roles as CSO, CMO and CIO who reports to CEO. Your main responsibilities will be:


·       Build M&A function and relevant procedures

·       Origination and screening for targets based on strategy including dialogue with investment banks

·       Handling M&A projects and processes from start to finish in close collaboration with Corporate Development, other corporate functions, Business Units and external advisors

·       Manage commercial due diligence process where Consultants from Corporate Development can support

·       Build and maintain Arjo´s M&A pipeline and evaluate attractiveness and viability of M&A opportunities

·       Update EVP, Corporate Development on progress of M&A projects

·       Preparation and presentation of decision material for top management and board approval of M&A projects

·       Coordinate Non-Disclosure Agreements with Legal department

Location of the position is Arjo´s headquarter in Malmö close to Central Stationen.
Travel activity in the job is estimated to 25-40 days a year due to the global nature of activities.


The ideal candidate
As Head of M&A you possess the following experience and qualifications:


·       A master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or similar that you’ve passed with great results

·       Approx. 2½-5 years M&A / transaction experience – gladly more – from a Corporate Finance / M&A function in a major international company, corporate finance advisory, investment bank, private equity fund, pension company etc.

·       Excel & PowerPoint skills on expert level

·       Fluent in English in speaking and in writing


As the right candidate you possess great business understanding in a global context. You have a strategic mindset and strong analytical and numerical abilities and on top a structured, reliable personality supporting you in planning, executing and prioritizing M&A activities. Therefore, excellent project management skills are a must. The same goes for people- and communication skills in order to work globally, across markets and with many internal and external stakeholders including top management. You have a high drive, positive pragmatic attitude and your work is based on a high level of integrity.
