Scalepoint is a well-established company having
built innovative software solutions since 2000 that make life easier for
insurance companies and the customers they serve. Our core product is a highly
advanced cloud-based software solution, that digitalizes and automates all
aspects of the process of reporting and procuring a claim. In doing so, we
significantly improve the insurance customer experience. We currently employ
190 people and are growing year by year. Most of our employees work out of our
corporate headquarter in Copenhagen, but we also have employees located in
Switzerland and Poland. For the time being, our customers include 26 primarily
large insurance companies, most of them from the Nordics, but we also have
large customers in key markets in Europe and are working hard to add more.

To
ensure that customers – large insurance companies – will have the most optimal
procurement contracts regarding personal contents available, Scalepoint is now
seeking a Head of Procurement & Strategic Sourcing. Scalepoint handle
procurement on behalf of insurance customers in the ClaimShop enabling claimants
conveniently to buy new items at the same time as insurance companies reduce
claim costs through the use of supplier contracts negotiated by Scalepoint.
Potential yearly spend on these contract is in the billion DKK league.
The
Procurement & Strategic Sourcing team is Scalepoint´s expert unit in
relation to category knowledge and supplier analyses, -network and -contracts.
Aim is to ensure that the supplier network cover as wide as possible enabling
highest degree of product match and ClaimShop activity, providing the most interesting
supplier rebates. Further to increase and balance discounts and
end-user-experience, optimize supplier experience at the same time as
generating – and meeting targets for – revenue and profit in the ClaimShop.
Responsibilities
The
Head of Procurement & Strategic Sourcing is pivotal for Scalepoint´s
expansion strategy and you will define and execute the right procurement and
sourcing strategy matching customer needs on both existing Nordic markets and
new European markets. Part of the role is to participate in customer- and
supplier meetings with Category Managers and Customer Managers to ensure that
development of Scalepoint’s solutions and agreements match customer needs and current
market trends.
The
position has top management exposure since reducing customer claim costs is
vital in order to make Scalepoint Europe´s leading insuretech company. Customer
stakeholder management is crucial in the position. The position will also
require extensive internal stakeholder management and cooperation with e.g.
Customer Management, Product Management, Finance, Service Desk, Claims
Directors at insurance companies and suppliers.
You
will act as a “Player coach” for a team of currently 3 skilled Category
Managers and Strategic Buyers handling categories within personal contents and
building claims. The Procurement & Strategic Sourcing team is part of the Service
function within Scalepoint, reporting to the VP of Service, who is reporting to
the CEO. The right candidate will have the potential to demonstrate clear
results and take a further step up in the organization.
Primary
responsibilities and tasks undertaken by you and the team you lead:

Develop and execute an optimal procurement strategy matching customer
needs.
·
Create and implement sourcing activities according to the sourcing plan.
·
Optimize supplier agreements and the process for using these.
·
Continually optimize categories and products to ensure an assortment
matching the household effects of insurance takers.
·
Ensure a competitive supplier network through building and retaining
relations to key suppliers in the Nordics and Europe.
·
Build strong relationships to Claim Directors and Supply Chain
departments at insurance companies in the Nordics and Europe. Maintain an
ongoing dialogue with these to ensure that you are always updated on their
needs and requirements.

Further enhance level, skills and capabilities within procurement, strategic
sourcing, supplier agreements etc..
·
Manage, advise and inspire the team you lead, including participation in
customer- and supplier meetings.
·
Act as a role model by supporting company strategy and demonstrate
leadership aligned with Scalepoint values.
Location of the position is at Scalepoint’s Headquarter at Aldersrogade 8, 2100
Copenhagen. Most of Scalepoint’s customers are currently Danish / Scandinavian
based and therefore only limited travelling is expected.
Candidate profile
As the right
candidate for the position as Head of Procurement & Strategic Sourcing you
ideally have:

A relevant master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or
the like.
·
A solid background with strategic sourcing and procurement where you have developed
a solid sourcing toolbox and gained experience related to strategic agreements,
negotiations, sourcing excellence etc.
·
Some experience from management consulting advising within strategic
sourcing, procurement, SCM, optimization and related fields will be an asset in
the position.
·
Preferably some experience with people management or as a minimum project management.
For the right profile this could also be the first position with direct people
management.
·
Previous exposure to companies within insurance, IT or other financial
industry such as banking, pension, payment solutions is a plus or experience
from other regulated industries, such as pharma or medical device could also be
relevant.
·
Experience working at least on a Scandinavian level and gladly in an even
more international setting.
·
Superuser of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with analytics tools, e.g. Alteryx, is a plus.
·
Fluent in written and spoken Danish and English.
