TDC is the incumbent telco in Denmark with strong market position, leading mobile network quality, and 100% customer coverage via fixed assets (across fiber, coax and copper). TDC was taken over by a Consortium in May 2018 with the ambition to split the integrated telco into two independent companies, i.e. an infrastructure focused NetCo and an end-user content focused Nuuday. The owners’ long-term focus is the NetCo, where the majority of the combined value creation will happen (by focusing on large investments into long-term stable infrastructure assets).

TDC NetCo is from July 2019 now a fully independent company of material scale with approximately 2.800 employees, 7 billion DKK revenue, 55+% EBITDA margin and investments exceeding 35 billion DKK in the coming 10 years. NetCo is trying to reshape the telco industry and to become a reference point for the Industry globally. This high ambition requires commercial steering and high-quality commercial & portfolio management. Commercial & Partners is the commercial and sales organization of NetCo and headed by Chief Commercial Officer. The organization creates and sells products and assemble services within communications and data transmission to the customers, mainly operators and other telco companies on the Danish market and globally. Currently, Commercial & Partners consists of 120+ employees but a significant growth in FTE’s is expected over the coming years.

Within the Commercial & Partners organization NetCo Management has decided to build a strong Commercial Steering function responsible for providing and managing the commercial architecture for NetCo. The objective is to maximize earnings whilst meeting infrastructure returns from the Danish market as a whole. It does this by defining the market, setting the strategy and framework within which NetCo's Commercial organization works. Qualitatively, Commercial Steering provides the thought leadership that enables market leadership. The objective is to create a high-performing function which works in close collaboration with the rest of the Commercial organization. The Commercial Steering function is split in 4 departments: Commercial Strategy, Portfolio & GTM, Business Management, and Market Intelligence.

Areas of responsibility

TDC NetCo is now looking for top talent to take ownership and help build a best-in-class Portfolio Management and Go-to-market function. As Product Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for creating transparency and develop the entire product proposition and product portfolio. This includes responsibility for e.g. product lifecycle management, product roadmap, proposition design – and therefore a significant P&L impact. 

The position reports to Head of Portfolio & GTM and the position will work directly with e.g. CEO, Chief Commercial Officer, VP of Commercial Steering and the rest of the NetCo organization. There will be a broad range of interfaces and stakeholders; some of these e.g. CTO on technology strategy and network rollout; Commercial Strategy on strategy execution; Product Management on product features; Sales & Business Management on go to market strategies and support; Finance on budget- and actual management; BI & Analytics. Primary responsibilities include:

·       Overall responsible for the portfolio strategy, creating transparency and developing the value proposition across the entire TDC NetCo portfolio

·       Responsible and key driver of active portfolio management; active management of the proposition/product life cycle incl. roadmap & asset management in cooperation with Product Management etc.

·       Define and lead the proposition design (incl. product development direction and criteria) which is supported and subsequently developed by Product Management

·       Develop pricing strategy, framework and governance with Pricing Manager

·        Primary interface towards rest of NetCo (Network, Onsite etc.) regarding overall portfolio alignment, priorities etc.

Location of the position is NetCo’s Headquarter at Teglholmsgade in Copenhagen.

Your profile as the desired candidate
Your professional background and qualifications should overall include:

·     Relevant Master’s degree in business, finance, engineering, IT with good results

·     At least 3-8 years of experience – gladly more – within Business Development, Commercial             Management, Product Management, Portfolio Management or similar, or alternatively                     experience as management consultant within these areas

·     A solid commercial management tool box within e.g. product management, Portfolio and                product lifecycle management, pricing, propositions, sales support, ComEX,                                    segmentation etc.

·     Telco and / or technology experience / interest is advantageous

·     Written and spoken English to negotiation level. Fluency in Danish will be a clear advantage

The compensation and benefits package will besides a fixed salary include company paid pension scheme and strong package of insurances, TDC Group products etc.
