SimCorp is looking for a highly qualified and driven Strategic Category Manager to be part of Group Procurement, which is based at the Headquarters in Copenhagen yet still supports SimCorp´s Global subsidiaries. You will be one out of two on a small professional team handling procurement for all kinds of products and services. The position reports to the Group Procurement Director, who reports to CFO. Being part of a small Group Procurement department will entail a large degree of freedom to influence your work.


The Job
A s Strategic Category Manager, you will have the global strategic responsibility for procurement of the following main commodities: Hardware, Software, Licenses, Copy & Print, Telecom, Consultancy- and HR services and you can also be assigned other categories. Within this portfolio of commodities, you lead procurement projects end to end from conducting market analyses, launching and handling tenders to carrying through negotiations and implementing contracts. Main tasks and responsibilities will be:


·         Analyze procurement needs of SimCorp´s business units and affiliates

·         Develop sourcing strategies based on market analyses, supplier analyses and risk assessments

·         Plan and execute tenders, hereunder RFI, RFQ etc.

·         Negotiate with suppliers and prepare contracts

·         Implementation of contracts including anchoring of all achieved savings in close partnership with internal stakeholders

·         Contract management activities throughout contract lifecycles

·         Act as a trusted business advisor, making Group Procurement and the value it adds visible


The position is located at SimCorp’s HQ, Weidekampsgade 16, 2300 Copenhagen S. You should expect 30-40 days of travelling pr. year in this position.



The ideal candidate may hold a Master’s Degree, Business Diploma – however experience, personality and motivation is more vital than a certain education. Furthermore, you possess the following qualifications: 

·         5+ years of experience within strategic sourcing / procurement preferably with a global approach

·         Solid experience with fact based negotiation and tendering processes incl. establishing request for quotation (RFQ) and drafting contracts

·        Experience with  establishment and use of target costing tools

·        Good knowledge of supplier industry landscape

·        Solid project management- and stakeholder management skills

·        Fluency in written and spoken English
