Ferring is offering an interesting position as Associate Director, Global Clinical Supply In-House in the IMP department which is part of Global Pharmaceutical R&D. The department consisting of around 12 engaged employees is responsible for clinical trial supply, packaging and distribution on a global level. The IMP department is divided into two teams; one
ensures internal packing and distribution activities to trial supplies, while the other ensures the outsourced packing and distribution activities to trial supplies. Both teams consist of IMP Technicians, IMP Coordinators and an IMP Associate Director.

The position as IMP Associate Director involves leadership and management of projects providing investigational medicinal products to all global product development programs. The products are provided through internal clinical trial suppliers, primarily at IPC in Orestad but also at a US satellite site. In the position, you will be heading typically 3-6 IMP Coordinators and IMP Technicians and you will have project budget responsibility too.

The essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Hiring, leading and developing team members ensuring relevant scientific skills and a motivated      team

• Representing the department at internal and external meetings, and being a member of IMP           management team

• Ensure defined IMP deliverables for projects, including plans, forecast, budget and status reports

• Contribution to business plans, policies and guidelines and to the further development of the           organisation

• Coordination between involved stakeholders (Clinical, CMC, Regulatory, QA, CMO/CROs and        Ferring Sales & Marketing affiliates) in order to work proactively with supply of IMP to the               clinical trials

• Compliance with guidelines and regulations including SOP approvals

• Compliance for IT GMP within department, where Clinicopia is the IT system for internal                 packaging

• Contribution with coordination activities (e.g. management of labelling, packaging, shipping,            return and destruction of clinical supplies) in case of excessive activities in a given time period


You hold a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, with experience and a proven track record from the pharmaceutical industry within clinic
al supplies. Understanding of GMP and GCP requirements for clinical supplies is essential. You have experience in the pharmaceutical GXP regulated work, very knowledgeable in GMP, Annex 13 and GCP and knowledge of IT GMP compliance (Clinicopia) is an asset. Ideally, you have at least 2-3 years experience as a line manager.

At the same time, you should be keen on maintaining a close collaboration with colleagues, both in your own as well as other departments within a changing and evolving company. Strong communication skills are essential in this role in order to interact with many other disciplines and to build an effective team. You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and you are proactive and service-minded. You must also have strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. Furthermore, you are very good at planning, managing and measuring work with a drive for results to ensure progress. You are fluent in English and keen on working in a multicultural environment.
